Peace

Nobody likes their mistakes to be indicated by others, so never 

indulge in that unless the person is below 18. Never do that 

especially with your spouse even if the mistake is about 

unnecessary expenditure, the peace you buy through this method is 

worth avoiding the mental disturbance.

Advitam

மரத்தில் மறைந்தது மாமத யானை

மரத்தை மறைத்தது மாமத யானை.

There is nothing other than Brahman in the whole universe. 

Super desire.

ஆசையை அறுமின், ஆசையை அறுமின்

ஈசனோடு ஆயினும் ஆசையை அறுமின்.

We are aware that desires are permitted as long as it is normal, meaning dharmic and within your means. But the above stanza says even the desire is related to God, it should be abandoned. This is confusing since it prohibits dharmic desire. 

This should be understood clearly without getting confused. This is applicable to those who have been walking in the spiritual path & are strongly interested in spiritual life. Ultimate aim of such person is to become a nirguna Brahman & he has to shed all his traits including desire. Hence this stanza.

Detach yourself !

உற்றார், உரவிநர்.

ஓடிடுவார், கூட வறார், நாம் செல்லும் நேரம்.

இதுவே உண்மை.

விழித்துக்கொண்டு உலகதின் பாசத்திலிரூன்து விடுபடுங்கள்.

சாப்பிடுவது எப்படி ?

1. WE SHOULD EAT ONLY WHEN WE ARE HUNGRY.

2. SALIVA SHOULD MIX WITH THE FOOD

3. WHEN WE EAT, OUR ATTENTION SHOULD BE ON THE FOOD

4. WE HAVE TO EAT THE FOOD BY GRINDING IT INTO A PASTE USING OUR TEETH

5. WATER IS THE ENEMY OF DIGESTION IN THE STOMACH

6. WE SHOULD NOT WATCH TELEVISION WHILE EATING

7. WE SHOULD NOT READ ANY BOOK WHILE EATING

8. WE SHOULD NOT TALK WHILE EATING

9. WE SHOULD NOT TALK ON CELL PHONE WHEN WE EAT

10. WE SHOULD NOT DO ANYTHING THAT DISTRACTS OUR ATTENTION WHEN WE EAT

திருக்குறள்

1. விருந்து புறத்தார் தான் உண்டல் சாகா

    மருந்தனினும் வேண்டர் பாற்றன்று.

When a guest is sitting outside, it is not worth eating even if it were to be nectar.

2. யாகாவாராயினும் நாகாக்க காவாக்கால்

   சோகாப்பர் சொல்லிழுக்குப்பட்டு.

3. கற்றதனலாயபயன் என் கோல் வாலறிவன்

    நற்றாள் தொழார் எனின்.
                                                   
There is no value for education if the educated ones do not worship their mother.

4. தோன்றிற் புகழோடு தோன்றுக ; அஹ்திலார்க்கு

தோன்றலின் தோன்றாமை நன்று.

If you want to be born in this world, please be famous, otherwise don't be born.

5. அடக்கம் அமரருள் உய்க்கும்; அடங்காமை
ஆரிருள் உய்த்து விடும்.
                                         
Humility will lead you to heaven; being not humble will lead you to hell.

6. வாய்மை என்பது யாதனின் யாதொன்றும்
தீமை இலாத சொலல்.

 As long as you do not harm any one orally, even if it turns out to be false, that is considered as truth.

7. பீலிபை சாகாடும் அச்சிறும் அப்பண்டம்
    சால மிகுத்து பெயின்.

      Even if it were peacock feather, if the load on the cart is more than what it can bear, then the axle of the cart will break.

8.கொக்கொக்க கூம்பும் பருவத்து அதன்
    குத்தொக்க சீர்த்த விடத்து.

   As stork is standing waiting for the fish to be spotted, and pick it when sighted, we should also wait for the right opportunity. 

9. கற்க கசடற கற்க கற்றபின் 
    நிற்க அதற்கு தக.

   Learn all without any mistake, after that live in those learning. 

10. தீயினால் சுட்ட புண் உள்ளாறும்
      ஆறாதே நாவினால் சுட்ட வடு.

The burns of fire on the body will be cured, but the marks made by the tongue on another person can never be cured.

ஆத்திச்சூடி

கந்தையானாலும் கசக்கி கட்டு !

Even if it is a torn attire, wash & wear !

பசித்து புசி.

Eat only when you are hungry.

கூழானுலும் குளித்துக்குடி.

Even if it is simple food, please eat it only after a bath.

வையகம்

வாழ்ந்தாலும் ஏசும் தாழ்ந்தாலும் ஏசும்

வையகம் இதுதானடா

விழுந்தாரை கண்டால் வாய்விட்டு சிரிக்கும்

வாழ்ந்தரை கண்டால் மனதுக்குள் வெறுக்கும்

இல்லாது கேட்டால் ஏளனம் செய்யும்

இருப்பவர் கேட்டால் நடிப்பென மறுக்கும்

பண்பாடு இன்றி பாதகம் செய்யும்

பணத்தாலே யாவும் மறைத்திட நினைக்கும்

குணத்தோடு வாழும் குடும்பத்தை அழிக்கும்

குணம் மாரி நடந்தே பகைமையை வளர்க்கும்

Poverty is very bad that too at a very young age.

ஈயார் தேட்டை தீயார் கொள்வர்.

                      -ஔவையார்.

- மற்றவருக்கு கொடுக்காமல் செல்வத்தை சேர்த்து வைத்திருந்தால் அதை தீயவர்கள் திருடிக்கொள்வார்கள்.

- Hoarding wealth without sharing it with needy people, will result in stealing of the same by thieves.
